Negative Growth Continues in Tile Export

The overall Chinese ceramic tile export market remained unsatisfactory from August 2016 to the same month in 2017. The year-on-year growth rate of ceramic tile export volumn was -4.31% in August 2016, and dropped to -23.21% in August 2017. Meanwhile, ceramic tile monthly export volumn declined from 433.47 million sqm to 416.57 million sqm, with a rock bottom of 251.99 million sqm in October, 2016.

Asia Remained as Tile Export Major Market

According to the statistics of tile export volume and value in the first 8 months of this year, we can see Guangdong is still king in the country, with export volumn proportion of 65.03% and export value proportion of 73.83%. As regards ceramic tile export to every continent, Asia is still the main export destination, with proportion of both export volume and value exceeding 60%, indicating overall high demand of the continent. In the light of export volume flow from Q2 2016 to Q2 2017, Asian countries occupy 8 of the top 10 tile export volume countries. Various datas show that the fast-developing Asian countries are busy constructing their infrastructure. It’s not hard to predict that the future export center will still fall on Asian, especially its emerging countries of soaring demands.

Sanitary Ware Export Analysis

According to the proprotion of sanitary ware export volume and value in the first 8 months of this year, Guangdong’s export volume took up 49.56%, while its export value occupied 76.37%, indicating that the sanitary ware products from Guangdong possess higher price and technological content compared with other production areas in China. Besides, sanitary ware export destinaiton mainly falls on Asia (38.78%) and North  America (30.21%), with a discrepancy of about 8%; while there are striking contrast on export value, with Asia 45.20% and North America 19.77%. From the export data of the past 5 years, we can tell that America and Korea have been the two main export destinaitons of Chinese sanitary ware products.
