Why Choose Ceramic Toilet----The Advantages of Choosing a Ceramic Toilet for Your Bathroom
Time:2024.09.14 Views:
The toilet is a product that we use every day. Choosing a good toilet can greatly improve our happiness in life. At present, the toilets on the market are ceramic. Have you ever thought about the reason? Please follow this blog to find out the answer.
The earliest toilet can be traced back to the "Xijing Miscellaneous Records", which said that the court of the Han Dynasty made a "Hu Zi" of jade. Emperor's attendants hold it, so that the emperor could go to the toilet at any time. This "Hu Zi" is a special utensil that later generations called a toilet bowl or chamber pot, and it is also the predecessor of the toilet.
The "Mu Ma Zi" in Ouyang Xiu's "Return to the Fields II" in the Northern Song Dynasty is explained in "Ciyuan" as "a wooden toilet". The toilet used by the ancient Chinese people was a round wooden barrel with a lid, painted with tung oil or fine waterproof red lacquer.
In 1596, English nobleman John Harrington invented the first practical toilet - a wooden seat with a tank and flush valve.
In 1885, Thomas Tuweford obtained the first patent for a fully ceramic toilet in the UK, and dozens of improved patents were granted every year thereafter. In 1914, the British made the first ceramic toilet in China in Tangshan.
Now the question is, with such advanced technology today, why don’t we choose to use other new materials and still use ceramics to make toilets? This has to start with the toilet itself.
A toilet needs to have the following three functions:
① It is a machine that can flush water.
② It must be waterproof, clean and hygienic.
③ It must be strong enough.
So, let's take a look at some modern commonly used materials and analyze whether they are suitable as toilet materials or not.
Plastic is a representative material of modern technology. If plastic materials need to be made into objects, they are usually made by extrusion or injection molding, and the process is relatively complicated and expensive. In addition, plastic is not very good in terms of durability. If it is often subjected to high pressure, it is very easy to cause deformation. Once deformed, the internal parts will easily twist or break, affecting the user experience.
Stainless steel is another common material in life, such as stainless steel, etc. Although stainless steel is known as stainless, it is not rust-proof. If it encounters chloride ions or is soaked in water for a long time, it will also rust.
①The ceramic surface is smooth and beautiful.
②It has a solid texture and good pressure resistance.
③Ceramics have high density and low water absorption, and the glaze on the surface can play a good waterproof and antibacterial role.
④It is not easy to get dirty and easy to clean
⑤It has excellent heat resistance and strong corrosion resistance.
1. Direct flush vs. Siphon
Direct flush toilet: This type of toilet is characterized by fast flushing speed, and the water flow directly flushes the inner wall of the toilet, which is suitable for families with high water pressure. The advantage is the flushing effect is good and it is not easy to clog; the disadvantage is the flushing sound is loud.
Siphon Toilet: This type of toilet flushes the dirt through the siphon effect, which is suitable for families with low water pressure. The advantage is the flushing sound is small and the cleaning effect is good; the disadvantage is the flushing is slow and it is easy to clog.
Choosing the right type according to the water pressure at home and personal preferences can effectively improve the user experience.
1. Ordinary Toilet vs. Smart Toilet
Ordinary Toilet: simple functions, mainly flushing and sewage discharge, relatively cheap, suitable for families with limited budgets.
Smart Toilet: has multiple functions such as heating, cleaning, drying, etc., which improves the comfort and hygiene of use. The advantage is the user experience is good and suitable for families pursuing high-quality life; the disadvantage is the price is high and needing regular maintenance.
Choose the appropriate function according to the needs and budget of family members.
1. Single-speed vs. double-speed vs. tankless
Single-speed toilet: only one flushing gear, easy to use, but not water-saving enough.
Double-speed toilet: has the function of flushing water for urination and defecation, small flushing volume, large flushing volume, and obvious water-saving effect.
Tankless toilet: flushing water by directly connecting to the water pipe, without a water tank, good flushing effect, but high water pressure requirements.
Choosing a toilet with good water-saving performance is not only environmentally friendly, but also effectively reduces water bills.
A good toilet cannot be lifted. The heavier it is, the more material it uses. The weight of a normal toilet is about 50kg, and a better quality toilet weighs 100kg. This is because under the same volume, the heavier the weight, the greater the density, and the less likely to break. A heavy toilet is generally not bad.
Toilets are divided into two types in terms of structure: split type, integrated type and wall-mounted type. Split type: There are gaps at the joints, which are easy to hide dirt and are difficult to clean. They occupy a large area and have fewer styles. Integrated type: There are no gaps at the joints, which are easy to clean and install. There are many styles, smooth and beautiful lines, and high cost performance. Wall-mounted type: The water tank is embedded in the wall. Because it is hung on the wall and does not touch the ground, it is easy to clean, but the installation is more troublesome, the floor space is small, the quality requirements of the toilet and water tank are very high, and the price is relatively high.
Choose a 5-layer glaze, which is easy to clean and does not get dirty. Generally, a good toilet has a fully glazed sewage pipe. You can put your hand into the sewage pipe to feel whether the surface is smooth. Uneven glaze feels rough. If the glaze is poor, it is not easy to flush the dirt down, which can easily cause blockage problems.
Choose an antibacterial urea-formaldehyde lid that will not turn yellow or discolor in the future. Choose a lid that can be removed with one click to facilitate cleaning in the future. Choose a toilet lid with a double slow-down function so that there will be no "bang" or "bang" sound when it is turned up and down.
