Indian Govt. to Develop Ceramic City on a Par with Morbi

Indian Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the government was ready to establish a ceramic industrial township in the State. About 3,000 acres would be allotted for the purpose in Krishna or Godavari districts, he added.
The Chief Minister had a meeting with Morbi Ceramic industrialists of Gujarat State at his camp office on Friday, and proposed to them to set up sanitary ware and ceramic tiles unit in the State. “Abundant natural sources, including electricity, gas, water, land and minerals are available in Andhra Pradesh compared to Gujarat. We will select land for setting up ceramic industrial township and perform bhumi puja within two months,” he said. This would help the industrialist to invest in AP he said, adding, the AP possesses highly skilled manpower and elaborated on the ease of doing business with the state. Replying to their queries on gas supply, the Chief Minister said that the government would set up LNG terminal at Kakinada sea port. The works of the gas pipeline were going on at a brisk pace, he said. He further hoped that the State would become a hub for ceramic industries which have a turnover of Rs 30,000 crore, and tiles industry of Rs 4,000 crore markets.
He added that the ceramic and tiles products were being exported to foreign countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Singapore. ?He expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh would become a big name in ceramic industry in south India. Minister for Mines and Geology P Sujatha, Secretary for Mines Girija Sankar and others participated in the meeting.
